The benefit of creative limitations
The thought of freedom and endless possibilities may seem tempting BUT I would like to say the opposite. Too many opportunities make me stressed and I do not know where to start. However, limiting myself gives me a framework to look within and forces me to become more creative with what I have.
A common limitation is, for example, time and money, which opens up for questions like. What can I do with this time? What can I do with this small sum? Or no money at all?
For me, creativity is primarily problem solving and when we give ourselves "problems" or limitations, ideas will come in masses. If you do not already have any clear limitations or frameworks, you can create them for yourself by setting a deadline or setting frameworks for your project that you must stay within. Maybe it's a specific light, a theme, an object or whatever really.
And I promise you! I have had occasions when I do not come up with anything but then I have set a seemingly impossible deadlines and bam - nailed it. We are infinitely creative beings and can't run out of creativity. Sometimes we block the flow by overthinking or doubting and have to give ourselves a push.
