Ways to overcome a creative block
I'm sure you've experienced a creative block at some point. The ideas just gets stuck and you can't get anywhere. It's frustrating I know. Here's some easy ways to overcome it...
TAKE A BREAKOk, this is not what you want to hear and it might sound contra productive but I promise you that this is one of the most effective ways. When we put to much pressure on ourselves our mind gets tired and ideas hard to access. By taking a walk, powernap, eating or watching a movie you get new energy and also new ideas. The important thing is to NOT think about the thing you're doing.
ACCEPT ITAccept that you're not getting anywhere right now and it's totally fine. We don't have to be productive 24/7. So instead of fighting it, try working with it. A block is actually your body saying it's not up for it right now, so listen.
CREATE AN IDEA-BANKCreate a bank by collecting ideas in a notebook or in your phone when you're out and about. Whenever really. The ideas doesn't have to have any logic or be connected to something. If you hear a word you like or something that stands out - write it down. When you get a creative block you can go through your notes and get inspiration.
CLEAN YOUR SPACE
There's nothing that kills creativity more than a mess or seeing the laundry you need to do or the dishes that needs to be cleaned. Either clean up and make your space pretty to you or move somewhere else, maybe outdoors? Whever you feel inspired working.
BE SILLY AND PLAY
Take away the pressure and have a little fun with it. Write something silly or create the weirdest thing you can think of just to get the juice flowing. Cause nothing causes a block more than pressure. Let me remind you, this is just art. It's not life or death. Do something that sucks. You can always redo it.
