Price your artwork
I have spent a lot of time thinking about the relationship between creating and money. It is incredibly tricky but has definitely become easier with time as I have learned to keep a healthy distance from my creations. If you see it as a part of yourself, pricing can feel like a valuation of the self. Avoid it. It makes you insecure and does not feel good at all. When you are done, take a step aside and look at the product and the work. To work professionally and be able to live of it, you must of course make profit. A price is not something that you set on a whim but something you calculate so that things go together..
Things to think about...
Production costs
First of all, you need to calculate all the costs that you have incurred to purchase various materials and the costs required to produce your work. Also keep in mind any wear and tear of things you use during the process. As a photographer, I also have standing costs as a subscription for editing software required for my job, for example.
Working hours
The time you spend planning and producing your work is also something that affects the price. Count all the time from idea to finished work. Creating photo-art, for example, is not just "snapping a picture" but an idea that requires planning and then perhaps takes one or more sessions to produce, followed by editing, selection, development and framing. How many hours have you put in?
Your status in the market
Of course, price is also affected by demand. If you have worked up your name or are known, it will add to the price, but as new it will be slightly lower. But remember...You decide what your art is worth and what you think it should cost. Being clear and consistent with your pricing so you are seen as a stable investment for your buyers can be good. But testing your grounds in the beginning is completely normal.

Mental health / Suicide Zero
I've got my own personal experiences of mental illness and suicidal thoughts back in time but am now in a stable and positive place in my life. Thanks to the fact that I now listen to myself and understand that I deserve to feel good I make better choices for myself.
If you see yourself as a computer for example. If you overheat the system and mismanage it, it will eventually crash. At least that was the case for me. Many things triggered each other like a domino and I did not know how to stop it. If you do not know how to deal with a "computer" (yourself), it can be good to ask for advice or get help from someone who knows and can support along the way. See the psychologist as a teacher or guide instead of a doctor who has to "fix" something. You are not broken or wrong in any way you just need to find the right track again. I have recently had contact with a psychologist and want to continue to have someone in the future. Not because I feel bad but because I feel good and want to continue to keep myself on the right path and not end up in old patterns. And when I say "feel good" I mean that I live a life with the natural ups and down but without a constant gray scale.
Feeling good is a skill and if you haven't been taught how to do it, it's not the least bit strange that you do not know how. I myself was like a driver who accelerated but did not hold the steering wheel. I lacked the tools, the knowledge and the belief that something better existed. But we have all the content to live a wonderful life designed for us. Be kind to yourself and take one small step at a time.
There is so much to say on this topic but I will leave this for this time and we will pick up the thread again in the future. Feel free share to your thoughts.
Preparations
Next month I'm having a new exhibition so I'm busy with all the preparations for it. This time it'll be less images but bigger ones instead and I'll tell you more about what's it's about soon. It's very dear to my heart since I'm reconnecting with my heritage and history.
My cat Indra decided to go on an adventure up on the mountain when I was working so she enjoyed herself as well. She still new to the outside world so I'm being an overprotective mommy haha but I'm trying to let her do her.

5 ways to promote your creative business
NEWSLETTER
Collecting addresses and sending out newsletters is a great way to interact with your customers and let them know what you're up to. A personal contact right in your inbox feels good if it is done correctly. Do not spam anyone, no one likes it. I use mailchimp myself to send out newsletters and think it works great.
BLOG
Writing posts about news and telling your customers what they need to know or might be thinking about can inspire them to be part of and find your business. It optimizes you in search engines and makes you more spread out on the web.
PODCASTS
Visiting podcasts is a way to both talk about what you have going on and share your personality and history. A personal contact is important for people to relate and want to invest time / money in something.
SOCIAL MEDIA
In today's situation there are many platforms (instagram, facebook, linkedin, youtube, tiktok ...) and many who spend time on them. However, I have personally gotten tired a lot of social media as it takes a lot of energy to reach out to the noise and you have to invest a lot if it is to provide value. And that you easily forget why you are on there..
EVENTS / IN PERSON
Not optimal at the moment but otherwise I think being present in a context that is in line with what you want to achieve is great. Nothing gives so much value as personally telling someone and establishing contact with other people.

Mental struggles creatives experience
As human beings and creatives, we often struggle with negative thoughts that get in the way. I will go through some common concepts that we often struggle with..
IMPOSTER SYNDROME
Are you worried that people will realize that you do not know anything or that you are not good enough? That you feel like a scam? You are definitely not alone, it is a common feeling and many have felt / feel the same way. I myself have experienced this a lot and worried when I did work that I will not live up to expectations. As with a lot, it helps to talk about it either with someone else or with yourself by putting words to the feelings and learning to understand them better. We are never full-fledged and there is always room to grow, so we must understand that there will be things we cannot do, but that does not mean that we are not competent at our job. Even experts and people with years of experience have things to learn and make mistakes! No one expects you to know everything and succeed with everything flawlessly all the time. People hire you because they themselves have no knowledge in the field.
PROCRASTINATION
Do you put things off and leave them until the very last minute? Or in an unidentified future? The reason we postpone things is to avoid unpleasant feelings. It may also be that we doubt our own ability and do not dare to start because we are afraid that it will not live up to our and others' expectations. To make it easier, we can break the information down into smaller parts to reduce the discomfort to become too great. If you need to read a book, you can, for example, start by only reading one page! Or ONE opinion. One word. As small parts as you need to do it. Once you are up and running, things often flow more easily.
COMPARISON
That we look around us and compare ourselves with others is common, especially today with social media. We measure our value in relation to others and try to figure out if we are good enough and if we will be allowed to join the group. It is fear that underlies this problem. Humans are a tribal species and historically we need our environment for survival. When it comes to feeding on your creativity, you can worry that you see that others do a better job in our eyes and that others may not hire us right then. How then are we to support ourselves? And survive? Be aware of your fear and approach it with humility. Turn your gaze and focus inwards instead of the surroundings. There is security in being able to comfort and stand up for oneself. When you put the spotlight on the feeling, it usually calms down. Admit to yourself that you feel scared and that it's all right.

Photographer: Sell your photos
Don't let your amazing photographs just lay around on a computer and become forgotten. Instead, sell them and let someone else get the joy of using them while you make some well deserved money.
Are you a photographer or photo enthusiast who wants to sell your photos but does not know how? I go through two different ways below..
SELL STOCK IMAGES
You can become a member of sites like Shutterstock or other types of online image agencies. Once you have been approved, you can upload your photos and receive a certain amount per download. The sum is small but with a lot of pictures and a strong stream of downloads, people have managed to earn well. Be aware of what is trending and what people are looking for.
SELL PRINTS
You can start a shop and sell your printed images with or without a frame. Choose your favorites and let others have the joy of decorating their home with them. You can also get retailers and let other stores sell your prints.

The benefit of creative limitations
The thought of freedom and endless possibilities may seem tempting BUT I would like to say the opposite. Too many opportunities make me stressed and I do not know where to start. However, limiting myself gives me a framework to look within and forces me to become more creative with what I have.
A common limitation is, for example, time and money, which opens up for questions like. What can I do with this time? What can I do with this small sum? Or no money at all?
For me, creativity is primarily problem solving and when we give ourselves "problems" or limitations, ideas will come in masses. If you do not already have any clear limitations or frameworks, you can create them for yourself by setting a deadline or setting frameworks for your project that you must stay within. Maybe it's a specific light, a theme, an object or whatever really.
And I promise you! I have had occasions when I do not come up with anything but then I have set a seemingly impossible deadlines and bam - nailed it. We are infinitely creative beings and can't run out of creativity. Sometimes we block the flow by overthinking or doubting and have to give ourselves a push.

Cycle syncing. Female entrepeneurs;
As women, we are controlled and influenced by our menstrual cycle, which consists of four different phases. In these different phases, we are differently productive, social, motivated and therefore have different times that are good for different things.
I myself have felt like a slave to my cycle for a long time and been hit hard by the fact that the motivation goes up and down along with it. When I instead learned more about the phases and how I can adapt accordingly, it was revolutionary for my life.
I can book podcasts, meetings, workshops and things like that when I'm in my most social phase. I can focus more on planning when I feel like being at home and during the menstruation itself - use for reflection, rest, gather inspiration. As well as adapting the diet and exercise to feel the best during the different phases.
Working life is created by men and we have adapted accordingly instead of having adapted to our own body and our own cycle which is constantly in motion. Forcing us to be productive during phases where motivation is low is not as optimal. As self-employed and entrepreneur, we can therefore create a work environment that is to our greatest advantage and get more out of our lives and our work.
I have kept a diary of my phases and made a note of when things happen and how I feel on different occasions in order to have a reasonable idea of how I should organize my life. Of course, it makes it easier if your period is regular! I have the big advantage that mine follows the moon so I can always look up at the sky to have some idea ;)
Feel free to tell us about your thoughts! Was this an eye opener for you? <3

6 steps: Create a creative project
Here's a summary of the usual steps I go through when creating a creative project. It might guide you when creating your own project..
IDEA
It all starts with an idea. A seed that we water and let bloom into something beautiful. If there is a constant flow of ideas, it is important to know what is worth investing our time in on a more long-term level. Think about whether the idea is something that you will be happy to look back on and fit into your other creative life. Some ideas come up and are fun at the moment and then you lose your interest.PLANNING
When we have our idea that we have decided to go with, it is important to set up a plan for what we need and how we are going to proceed. What time we need to spend, what budget is required, what we need to do to make our idea a reality and so on.
PREPARATION
Preparations are a must and now it's time for the more practical work to create our project. Buy what is needed. Rent locations, obtain materials and talk to potential partners and of course the creative creation and execution.
MARKETING
Create a marketing plan for the launch and how to create a conversation about your project. If it is an event, any invitations and posters will be made. If it is a product, it requires reaching out in other ways after launch. Have competitions, events, workshops, share and teach something about the launch.PERFORMANCE
The launch of your product or possibly the implementation of an event. Of course, it depends on what kind of creative project you have created. Here you show it to the audience and get to see it meet the world. Can be both exciting and very nervous.EVALUATION
Once you have created and completed your project, it can be good to evaluate for future projects. What went well and what wasnt as great? What are you going to do differently next time? Can you be more economical or use your time better. Maybe you have come up with a new marketing strategy that you think will work better and so on. There can always be things you learn every time you implement something and then improve. Do not expect everything to be perfect as it is an unreasonable requirement to put on yourself but have fun and learn while you do it. Keep creating!-------------------------------

Things I wish I knew when I started my creative career
After having been doing this for a while now I look back on when I started and what I''ve learned over the years. This is what I wish I knew when I started out...
PATIENCE
Things takes time. It doesn't matter who you or what you do, success doesnt happen over night. It requires a lot of work and a lot of time. Don't loose hope cause things are feeling slow, you're making progress everyday. It might be learning something new, bettering your marketing strategy, connecting with new clients, making more sales or finding new inspiration.
MARKETING
Marketing is such a huge part and that is something I didn't put much thought into when I started out. My focus was on the craft and what I was doing. Now I know that marketing is maybe 80 procent of the work. Cause if people doesn't know you exist it doesn't matter how great you are and what you do.
CONFIDENCE
We have to believe in ourselves. So so so so important. If you don't believe in what you do other people won't. And other people doesn't care. I'm sorry for the harsh truth but that's what's up. Don't wait for others to validate you and your work before you make yourself a place in the business. Validate yourself and just grab yourself a seat. You're a great and you deserve it.
GIVE VALUE
People care about themselves and are out looking for what's in it for them. If you want people to invest in your business you have to give value to them. Sure, follow your heart and your passion BUT be aware of what people want too if you make to make a living of it.

Tips for writers! Sharing my method
Do you like to write? Here's a great tips on how to get started. This is a method I use when writing or creating something heavier or already have the story but do not know how to get it down on paper..
You may be able to relate to having a big idea that you carry around but it feels too overwhelming to even think about getting it down on paper? No worries.
To remove the pressure I'll create a bunch of smaller notes. On each note I write down the parts/chapters that story needs or should have. Then I brainstorm around every note, write words or short sentences of what comes to mind until each note is filled with lots of thoughts and information. Finally, I sit down and start writing the story and take it note by note. Break it down into such small pieces that makes it feel doable to you. If it feels too big, you need to break it down more. Writing one note at a time feels a lot easier than the thought of an entire story.
And don't forget. Write first and then edit! The first draft certainly does not have to be perfect. Just get the story down and then go back and edit.
